Wrestling is one of the earliest sports known to mankind- dating back earlier than the ancient Greek Olympic Games. Wrestling is a sport of control, not violence, and can be learned by anyone- no matter the body type, height, weight or gender.
A wrestler is taught important LIFE qualities such as self-esteem, leadership skills, and discipline. It develops confidence and teaches perseverance. Wrestling builds character and good sportsmanship- a wrestler shakes their opponent's and opposing coach's hands whether they win or lose.
Wrestling strengthens both physically and mentally. Training improves reflexes, balance, agility and endurance. It can dramatically improve one's ability to perform in other sports. Healthy eating and nutrition are encouraged for optimal performance...
The Tomcat Wrestling Club and Coaches are excited to announce that Coach Joe Zepeda will serve as our head coach for our youth wrestling program. Joe has an extensive coaching and competing
background in wrestling and football for the East Aurora Tomcats.
Joe began to wrestle in middle school and was a state finalist at 122lbs. in 1993.
He is entering his 7th season coaching with the Tomcat Wrestling Club and also coached at Full Mount MMA for roughly the same time length. We are excited for Joe to lead our program into a new
chapter. Our club was one of the first in the IKWF (Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation) and has had great success over the last 33 years. We plan to build on that success with Coach Joe.
Joe & his wife Silvia reside in Montgomery, IL and are parents to two boys, Jose Leo (Peanut) and Isaac Zepeda.
